Vinayaka Mission’s Law School (VMLS), a constituent college of the Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation – Deemed to be University, Salem, is mentored by the finest law school in India, Jindal Global Law School (QS World University Rankings 2024 – No. 1 in India, No. 72 in the world), and the OP Jindal Global University, Sonepat.
In furtherance of its emphasis on skills-based learning and inclusive legal education for the 21st century, VMLS has associated with more than 50 law firms and law practitioners who offer value added courses, internships, and knowledge partnership avenues for the law school and its students. In academic year 2023-24 alone, nearly 60 different guests from across various streams of legal practice addressed VMLS students and trained them in areas as diverse as sports law, arbitration, and criminal trial advocacy. VMLS’ foreign-qualified faculty, including its Dean who is double-Ivy League qualified, design and teach nearly 30 future-focused electives on cutting edge areas like emerging technologies and their impact on law and policy, climate transitions, and new models of interdisciplinary legal education. Its 4 centres of excellence incubate varied research commitments in the areas of justice through technology, public international law, maritime law, and Tamil language and culture and its interplay with the world of law and justice. VMLS also takes pride in its state-of-the-art infrastructure that includes smart classrooms that are digitally enabled, a regal moot court hall, a library designed with reading culture as its DNA, and a comprehensive Digital Library that offers access to leading treatises and databases.
