Since its inception in 2018, Nidaan has been dedicated to educating and empowering communities by raising awareness about legal rights and providing comprehensive support to those navigating the legal system. The organization has significantly impacted countless lives through initiatives like workshops, informational resources, and one-on-one support. Inaugurated by notable figures such as Hon’ble Vishwas Nangre Patil (IPS) and Adv. Ujjwal Nikam (Special Public Prosecutor), Nidaan has grown to include a forum of legal professionals, police officers, and volunteers. The organization has organized numerous seminars and training workshops on various legal subjects, including Anti-Narcotics, Income Tax, Human Rights, and Constitutional Rights. Nidaan also collaborates with local authorities, such as the Lonavala Police, to deploy volunteers for community initiatives. The National Conference on “Overview and Comparison on Old and New Criminal Laws in India Criminal Laws stands as a pivotal event, convening legal professionals, scholars, policymakers, and students from across India to critically examine and discuss the three recently enacted laws that promise to redefine the country’s criminal justice system. This conference represents a significant moment in Indian jurisprudence, as it gathers some of the most insightful minds in the legal field to engage with the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (BNS), the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (BNSS), and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023 (BSA). These statutes are not merely revisions of existing laws but signal a comprehensive overhaul of India’s criminal legal framework, tailored to address the complexities of modern society. The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, for instance, modernizes the procedural aspects of criminal law, while the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, focuses on citizen protection and public order, and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, revises the rules of evidence to incorporate technological advancements. - Submissions should be original and unpublished works. If any submission is found plagiarized, it will be out rightly rejected.
- Authors must follow the Bluebook 21st edition citation style for the abstract and the full paper.
