The Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection (IBPS) is an autonomous body that conducts competitive exams for the recruitment of clerical and officer-level posts in the banking sector. IBPS conducts a bank exam for specialist officer law.
IBPS SO (Specialist Officer) is one such exam that is conducted by IBPS every year and one can become a Law Officer in a Bank in India. This is a reputed post with a healthy salary.
The exam for IBPS SO (Law) is conducted in three stages to become a Law Officer in a Bank:
1. Preliminary Exams
2. Mains Exam
3. Interview
IBPS takes after a settled criteria of stamping conspire in all its exams, i.e., a punishment of 0.25 marks will be deducted for each inaccurate answers and unattempted questions will not be granted any marks.
Eligibility Criteria to become a Law Officer in a Bank:
- Citizenship: The candidate must be a resident of India
- Age limit: The minimum age limit is of 20 years and the maximum limit is 30 years
- Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Law and Enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council
The IBPS SO (LAW) exam takes place in three stages and the three stages have their own set of difficulties, syllabus and questions. Here is the list of things asked the exam fro your reference-
Preliminary Exam
There are three sections in this exam and the maximum marks is 125 for 150 questions
- English language (50 questions for 25 marks)
- Reasoning (50 questions for 50 marks)
- General Awareness with Special reference to Banking Industry (50 questions for 50 marks)
Mains
After qualifying for the IBPS SO Prelims exams, you will be called for the Mains Exam. This exam comprises as it were one segment in which your proficient information concerning law is judged.
The total marks for this test is 60 and the time limit is 45 minutes.
Interview
If you qualify IBPS SO Mains exam, you will be shortlisted for the Interview. The interview is of 100 marks and the minimum qualifying marks in IBPS SO Interview is 40% and 35% for general and reserved categories respectively. The scores of your Mains and Interview will be taken into consideration while making the final merit list.
