H.M. Seervai Essay Competition in Constitutional Law by NLSIU Bangalore: Submission by June 9

NLSIU Bangalore is organising the H.M. Seervai Gold Medal Essay Competition in Constitutional Law 2018.

The topic of this competition is “Passive Euthanasia: An Analysis of Supreme Court Judgements”.

Euthanasia is the practice of intentionally ending a life to relieve pain and suffering. Passive euthanasia (known as “pulling the plug”) is legal under some circumstances in many countries and is one of the most debated topic in contemporary times on a global scale. The competition will help a student hone his/her researching and writing skills and provide a voice to this discussion.

Eligibility Criteria: 

The essay competition is open only to LL.B / B.A, LL.B / BBA, LL.B Students  studying in recognised Law Schools/Colleges/Universities in India.

Prize:

The student whose essay is adjudged to be the best, will be awarded a Gold Medal at the Annual Convocation of NLSIU, Bangalore.

Submission Guidelines for the Essay:

1. Essay should be original, not exceeding 10,000 words and should be in English.
2. Co-authorship is not permitted.
3. Four hard copies of the essay should be sent to the following address on or before Saturday, 9th June 2018 by the students with their name, contact number, address and email ID along with a covering letter.
4. Students are also required to submit a bonafide certificate through the principal/registrar/head of institution, failing in which the essays will not be considered.
5. The envelopes containing the essay should be properly sealed and superscribed as “HM Seervai Gold Medal Essay Competition”.
6. A soft copy of the same should be sent to hmse@nls.ac.in by 12:00pm on June 9, 2018 from their respective email IDs to facilitate future correspondence.
