Application procedure:
I emailed my application for an internship at humsafar25nov@gmail.com along with my CV and a recommendation letter from my college, I got the confirmation within a week.
Duration:
4 weeks
First impression, First day formalities, infrastructure:
They handed over me the Humsafar’s brochure which contained the brief description of the work they do, by which I was impressed and excited.
I had to submit a photocopy of my id proof along with my passport size photographs.
The infrastructure was okay.
Main tasks:
I was told to research on the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 and had to make a brief of the cases which they dealt with.
I also visited an orphanage and attended an awareness programme on Gender Sensitization, which was quite interesting. After that, I interviewed lawyers appointed by DLSA who dealt with cases relating to Domestic violence and had to compile the same.
At the end of my internship, I had to give a presentation on the work that I did.
Work Environment and people:
The work environment is friendly though they are quite particular in their work.
Best things:
I got an opportunity to assist the people who were working against the crimes related to women and gained an idea about the social perspective of the victims as well as the people and lawyers dealing with such cases.
Bad things:
There were no bad things as such.
