Gang-Rape in Bhopal-
In a horrifying incident, a 19year-old, B.Sc. student was gang-raped by four(4) men and left to die in Habibganj, Bhopal. The young lady survived the incident and tried to register a complaint in the police station but was refused, according to reports of News18.
The lady asserted that she was raped by four men, she was abducted in the daytime near an RPF Chowk in Habibganj, Bhopal. The police said one of the accused, is an old, habitual criminal, who is already charged in different cases like of murder, dacoity, etc. and has been kept with three of his partners.
According to the police,
the young lady was coming back from her training classes when the four men abducted her near an isolated railway crossing. Then they dragged her in the nearby fields in the bushes and alternately raped her, also took the break of tea and tobacco. The accused at that point attempted to strangulate her in fear of getting caught and punished by the police and the public. After trying to strangulate the young lady they assumed that she was dead, so all the four men fled from that area.
A GRP official said that the young lady regularly took the transport to go home, however, today, she chose to take the train. The young lady, an inhabitant of New GRP Colony, later portrayed the occurrence to her family who at first tried to report it at the Government Railway Police (GRP) station.
The young lady’s family said that the GRP police did not pay any notice to their complaint at first yet later the Habibganj police station enlisted an F.I.R. and gave over the case to the GRP police station.
Statement by Police-
GRP SP Anita Malviya stated, “The issue has gone as far as anyone is concerned and an instance of gangrape has been registered and the four accused have been captured. We did not waste any time and lodged a complaint within 30 minutes. The issue is yet to be investigated by the police.
