Eligibility of Assam Judicial Service

  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • The candidate must have acquired a law degree from a recognized institute or university.
  • Age limit- 21 to 35 years.
  • For SC/ ST candidates, refer to the official notification for details.

Pay Scale-

Rs. 27,700-44,700/- with usual dearness allowance and other allowances as sanctioned by the government.

The examination process typically occurs in 3phases-

  3. Interview

Preliminary Examination

The Preliminary Examination consists of 100 MCQs of 1 mark each. Subjects covered-

  • General Knowledge
  • Aptitude English
  • Constitution of India
  • Indian Penal Code
  • Criminal Procedure Code
  • Code of Civil Procedure
  • Transfer of Property Act
  • Indian Contract Act
  • Indian Evidence Act
  • Law of Torts
  • Proficiency in the official language of Assam (10marks)

Paper 1

Language (English)- 100 Marks

  • Essay
  • Precise Writing
  • Grammar
Paper 2

General Knowledge- 100 Marks

  • Objective Test
  • Aptitude Test
Paper 3

Civil- 100 Marks

  • Transfer of Property Act
  • Indian Contract Act
  • Constitution of India
  • Code of Civil Procedure
Paper 4

Criminal- 100 Marks

  • Indian Evidence Act
  • Law of Torts

Interview/ Viva-Voce
