Supreme Court today rejected the request of convict A G Perarivalan looking for the review of its May 1999 judgment maintaining his conviction in the Rajiv Gandhi death case. A seat of judges Ranjan Gogoi, R Banumathi and M Shantanagoudar said it doesn’t have to meddle with its 1999 decision maintaining Perarivalan’s conviction.

Prior, the CBI had looked for the expulsion of Perarivalan’s request guaranteeing it was without any benefits. In a sworn statement documented in the pinnacle court, CBI’s Multi-Disciplinary Monitoring Agency (MDMA), examining the bigger trick perspective behind Gandhi’s death, had said that the part of convict Perarivalan in the intrigue bringing about the executing of the previous leader and others have just been maintained by the best court.
