On 21.05.2020, NIA files the second Supplementary Charge sheet in RC-01/ 2018/NIA-LKW in the NIA Special Court, Lucknow u/s 120B of IPC r/w Sections 489B & 489C of IPC against JiyaulHaqR/o VillMohabbatpur, PS Kaliachak, District Malda, West Bengal.
Earlier two Charge sheets were filed against 5 accused viz. Shiv Bhajan Gupta, KuldeepGupta (A-2), Gurudev @ Vivek Rajput, Rajneesh Yadav, and Mithun @ Abdul Salam on 20.11.2018 and 28.08.2019.

The case relates to the seizure of FICN by STF UP on 24.08.2018 from the possession of 04 accused namely Shiv Bhajan Gupta, Gurudev @ Vivek Rajput, Kuldeep Gupta and Rajneesh Yadav. Total 230 notes in the denomination of Rupees 2,000/- having total face value of Rupees 4,60,000/- (Rupees Four Lakhs Sixty Thousand) were seized.
FIR No. 482/2018 dated 24.08.2018 was lodged at PS Hasanganj, Lucknow UP u/s 489B & 489C of IPC against the aforesaid 04 accused. During the investigation, accused Abdul Salam, the supplier of FICN seized in the case was also arrested.
The investigation further found that accused JiyaulHaq had supplied the seized FICN to Abdul Salam. The investigation also found that JiyaulHaqused to smuggle and procure FICN from Bangladesh. Accused were involved in trafficking of counterfeit currency notes, buying and selling the same at different locations in West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh and thus formed a racket involved in trafficking of FICN.
Fake Indian Currency Note (FICN) is a term used by officials and media to refer to counterfeit currency notes circulated in the Indian economy.[1] In 2012, while responding to a question in parliament, the Finance Minister, P. Chidambaram, admitted that there is no confirmed estimate of fake currency in India. However, several central and state agencies are working together, and the Ministry of Home Affairs has constituted the Fake Indian Currency Notes Coordination Center (FCORD) to curb this menace. Further investigation of the case continues u/s 173(8) CrPC.
