ABOUT IFIM LAW SCHOOL

Established in 2014 and based out of the Silicon Valley of India, today the IFIM Law School is recognized as the 2nd most outstanding Law School of Excellence by the Global Human Resource Development Centre (GHRDC) survey, 2021 and 9th Best Private Law School in India by Outlook Magazine Ranking 2021. IFIM Law School is affiliated to the Karnataka State Law University (KSLU) and is approved by the Bar Council of India.

ABOUT CENTRE FOR ADR

The Centre for Alternate Dispute Resolution [Centre for ADR] is a student-run body constituted in the year 2019, with a vision to promote ADR culture among the students. The Centre for ADR consists of student members who undertakes various activities like Research and updation of ADR News on E-Platforms, YouTube Channel, Training for Competitions, Conducting Seminars and responsible for Weekly Classes to make everyone aware about theoretical nuances of ADR. The members collectively work towards polishing the skills of students and guiding them to pursue their ADR interests.

The Centre for ADR aims to build an ADR culture throughout the IFIM and Society. We believe that any dispute can be solved in an amicable manner, deals can be cracked through efficient negotiation; only thing require is the knowledge of art and awareness of mechanisms. With the right training members of the society can be equipped with skills of ADR and burden of courts can be reduced case by case

CONCORDAT is back with its second edition!! Gear Up for the fun and enthralling ADR Fest

This time Centre for ADR is organising this Alternate Dispute Resolution Fest (ADR Fest) along with Centre for Sports Laws, Economic and Policy of IFIM Law School. “CONCORDAT 2.0”, scheduled from 15th July 2022 – 17th July 2022.

CONCORDAT 2.0 aims to go a step ahead from CONCORDAT 2019 and aims to provide a holistic experience of all the forms of ADR to the participants with a fusion of Client Counselling and Negotiation, and Mediation and Arbitration as two formats C-Neg and Med-Arb. Event is spread over three days, wherein participants will not only compete but will be allowed to unwind themselves every evening and enjoy a cultural feast.

Concordat 2.0 is more than just a regular competition. It is an ADR Fest. A competition brings with it anxiety and apprehension. Concordat 2.0 shall help the students remain calm, composed, and refreshed with a 2-day Carnival alongside the Competition. The lively music, the lip-smacking food, the energetic dance performances, and the engaging games shall assure the festiveness, vigour and high spirit over the three days of the ADR Fest.

FORMAT OF THE COMPETITION

Competition is open for Law Students. The Fest will be spread over three days and two categories of competition. Each category shall have four rounds: Preliminary, Quarters, Semi-Finals and Finals.

1st Category – Client Counselling and Negotiation (C-Neg)

2nd Category – Mediation and Arbitration (Med-Arb)

The entire competition will be based on problems related to Sports Law, Commercial Laws and Private International Law . In both the format the problem will evolve with every passing round and new elements/complexities will be introduced after each round.

CLIENT COUNSELLING AND NEGOTIATION (C-NEG)

In the first two rounds, the participants will get to showcase their client counselling skills whereas, in the last two rounds of the competition, their negotiation skills would be tested.

Team Composition

For the C-Neg, each team shall comprise of two students.

Registration Process

The Registration Fee for C-Neg is Rs 3000/- per team

MEDIATION AND ARBITRATION (MED-ARB)

In the first two rounds, the participants will get to exercise their mediation skills whereas, in the last two rounds of the competition, their arbitration skills would be assessed.

Team Composition

For Med-Arb, each team shall comprise of three students.

The Registration fee for Med-Arb is Rs 4500/- per team
