ABOUT LAWYERS GYAN-

Lawyers Gyan an emerging web portal which aims to create additional opportunities for all and to create a professional and healthy environment for the law students, teachers and professionals. We the team of Lawyers Gyan are a group of Highly Functioning professionals and have pledged to serve the legal fraternity by making the law accessible to all and impart basic legal knowledge to everyone. We have a journal called Lawyers Gyan Journal to promote legal research and publish manuscripts based on various branches of law. They are organising 3rd Edition of National Essay Competition, 2020.

ABOUT THE COMPETITION-

Lawyers Gyan is proud to announce its Third Edition of “Lawyers Gyan National Essay Writing Competition, 2020”. Submissions are invited from students, research scholars, academicians, and professionals from all across the country to participate and express their views on the given themes.

THEMES-

Participants may write and express their views on any of the following themes:

Custodial Death
PM Cares Fund: Pros and Cons
Increase in Domestic Violence cases during Covid-19.
Criminalization of Marital Rape
Ban on Chinese App: Need and impacts
Mob Lynching
Homosexuality Laws in India

ELIGIBILITY-

National Essay Competition is open for-

We look forward to participation from any students (Certifications/ Diploma/ UG/ PG) from any stream from any Universities/ Colleges/ Institute in India.
Also, from academicians, scholars, researchers and professionals, Advocates.
Multiple entries from one participant are not permitted.

SUBMISSIONS GUIDELINES-

Participants are to adhere to the following guidelines while submitting their essay:

Multiple entries by one author are not allowed.
A participant can choose only ONE Theme.
Word Limit: 2000-3000 words (excluding footnotes).
Formatting specifications:
a. Font and size for the essay: Times New Roman | 12
b. Font and size for footnotes: Times New Roman | 10
c. Line spacing: 1.5
Uniform style of citation (follow Bluebook 20^th Edition)
The file name must consist only of the author’s name; in case of co-authorship both the authors name.
Essay must be in .docx or .doc.
The competition shall be in English only.
Write-ups shall have no plagiarism and should be an original work of the participants.
Participants should email there essay at lawyersgyaan@gmail.com., admin@lawyersgyan.com.
The subject line of the email will be “Submission for Essay Writing Competition 2020– [Name of Author(s)]”.

Suggestions and Recommendations;
The Decision of Judges will be final and binding.

COPYRIGHT OF THE SUBMISSION

All the essays submitted shall be the exclusive property of Organisers.
Organizers shall be free to use the information/ views therein in any manner it requires.
No essay shall be entertained if received after the deadline.
The decision of Organisers in deciding the winner(s) shall be final and binding and no query, correspondence, etc. in this regard shall be entertained by the Organisers.
Laws of India with the jurisdiction of courts at Ahmedabad shall apply to this competition.

Note:

Essays incompatible with the above rules and submission guidelines will not be considered.
The submission of entries to the competition implies acceptance of the above terms and conditions by the participant(s).

Winner:- Rs. 500+ Merit Certificate
First Runner-Up:- Rs. 250 + Merit Certificate
Second Runner-Up:- 100 + Merit Certificate
All participants will get e-certificate of participation.

Single Author- Rs. 100/-
Co-authorship- Rs. 150/-
Co-authorship is allowed to Maximum of 2 authors i.e. 1 Author & 1 Co-Author.
