Law Mantra is calling for Chapters for an Edited Book on Uniform Civil Code for India: Proposed Blueprint for One Nation One Law.

ABOUT LAW MANTRA TRUST

Law Mantra is a registered charitable trust with the Government of India under the India Trusts Act 1882 (Registration No 150 in Book No.4 Vol No 3, 603 of 2018). Law Mantra is exempted under Section 80 G and 12A. For corporate donations, partnering with Law Mantra qualifies under Schedule VII, Item 2, of the Companies Act, 2013.

Law Mantra has grown from mere a sapling to an ark marked the completion of its 7 glorious years of existence and academic excellence in the arena of legal education. Recently, we have celebrated the 7 Year and commemorated the journey of Law Mantra by rejoicing the illustrious path of academic and intellectual triumph.

ABOUT BOOK: UNIFORM CIVIL CODE FOR INDIA: PROPOSED BLUEPRINT FOR ONE NATION ONE LAW

The Uniform Civil Code (UCC) calls for the formulation of one law for India, which would be applicable to all religious communities in matters such as marriage, divorce, inheritance ,succession and adoption. The code comes under Article 44 of the Constitution, which lays down that the state shall endeavor to secure a Uniform Civil Code for the citizens throughout the territory of India.

This Book aims to highlight the importance of the Rights and the Uniform Civil Code as well as the distinct and complex affiliations between them .It intents to form a sustained probe and illumination of one of the most decorated themes of political, cultural, social and economic public discourse.

The above mentioned sub  themes are not exhaustive but only illustrative.- Authors are open to research on any topic related to the above mentioned themes introspecting their own scholarly interests on this  igniting area.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

1.     The themes are broadly suggestive. The author may write on any topic relevant to the theme of the book.

2.     All the contributions should be the original work of the contributors. All submissions will undergo the plagiarism test.

3.     The contributions should be ideally above 3500 words.

4.     All articles, notes and comments should provide a brief abstract of 250-300 words.

5.     Submissions should be in

                        I.         Times New Roman, 12 fonts with 1.5 line spacing, justified text and 1-inch margins on all sides of an A4 sheet.

                      II.         Footnotes should be in Times New Roman, 10-font size with 1.0 line spacing.

                    III.         Endnotes and/or Bibliography and in-text citations are not allowed.

                   IV.         Headings should follow the following standard:

a.     TITLE OF THE SUBMISSION: Upper-case, bold, font size 14 b. HEADINGS: Upper-case, bold, font size 14

b.     Sub-Headings: Title-case, bold, font size 12

c.     Sub-Sub-Heading: Title-case, italics, font size 12

                     V.         The submission must be the original work of the author and must not have been submitted elsewhere or pending review.

                   VI.         Co-authorship is allowed. The maximum number of co-authors for a submission shall only be one.

6.     Kindly use footnotes only,  Footnotes should confirm to the Indian Law Institute, New Delhi Citation Style of Footnoting.

7.     All submitted papers will go through a peer review process.

8.     The Law Mantra Trust retain all copyright.

9.     The manuscript should be accompanied with the author’s name, designation, name of institute, contact number and e-mail for future reference and correspondence.

10.  There is no registration fee, and a soft copy of the book will be provided to all authors free of cost, however, if they wish to purchase a hard copy they need to pay a charge as decided by the publisher.

EDITORIAL BOARD

1.     Prof. (Dr.) Naresh Kumar Vats, joined as Professor of Law at Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab (Patiala) (on Five Year Contract) on December 22, 2018 joined as Regular Professor of Law from April 28, 2022. Worked as Registrar, RGNUL, Punjab with effect from January 01, 2019 to April 28, 2022 and presently working as Professor of Law and Dean Students Welfare.

Prior to joining at RGNUL, Punjab as Professor of Law & Registrar, Professor Vats has worked as Head of Department of Law; Founder Chairman CPGLS; Head-Center of IPR; and Proctor. Professor Vats has also taught  Intellectual Property Laws, Family Law, Commercial Arbitration Mechanism and Cyber Law at Undergraduate and Post-Graduate course at Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur; National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam; Institute of Law, Kurukshetra University; BGC Trust University Bangladesh, Chittagong-Bangladesh; and Institute of Law and Research (formerly National Institute of Law) Faridabad, Haryana.

He has worked in various capacities i.e.  REGISTRAR, Secretary & Member General Council, Executive Council, Academic Council, Academic and Planning Board, Finance Committee, at RGNUL Punjab;  HoD Law, Founder Chairman-Center for Postgraduate Legal Studies, Head-Center for IPR and Proctor at MNLU, Nagpur; Head-Center for IPR Studies, Controller Examinations, Chief Warden, State Public Information Officer, Convener-Exam and Result Moderation, Faculty i/c –Hostel & Campus Welfare, Member of Academic Council, Ph.D. Research Committee, Clinical Legal Aid, Anti-Ragging, Faculty Co-ordinator of Internship at NLUJAA; Chairman Department of Law & Associate Professor at BGC Trust University Bangladesh and Convener-Admission, Placement & Training, Discipline, IQAC, Superintendent Examination and Warden at Kurukshetra University.

He has delivered many Special Lectures on Artificial Intelligence, IPR, Family Law, Taxation and Business Law in MBA course, Refresher Course in Kurukshetra University, BPSMV, Khanpur Kalan, NATD-Nagpur, RGNIIPM-Nagpur etc. He has also acted as Co-organizing Secretary of National Seminar and campus of Rural Lok Adalat and Legal Aid Clinic, Coordinator of WIPO-India Summer School 2017 between WIPO-Geneva, RGNIIPM, Nagpur and MNLU, Nagpur, and will be hosting WIPO-India Summer School 2018 in the Month of July 2018.

2.     Dr Bhavna Batra is an  academician with an embellished and fortified experience of more than 15 years of enriched legal teaching .She is currently working with Amity Law School Noida as an Associate Professor of Law and is designated as the Vice President of Amity Law Foundation .

Dr Bhavna is an alumni of Miranda House Delhi University, LLB Graduate from the most prestigious Faculty of Law, Delhi University and Masters in Law from Jamia Milia Islamia University. She received the accolade of the Best Student Award in her  LLB Examinations  and strived hard to receive twin gold medals in LLB & LLM University Examinations. She was also honoured with a merit scholarship from HRD Ministry for her scholastic achievements .Her doctoral thesis titled as “Feasibility of Making Right tom Work as a Fundamental Right : A Multidimensional Approach “embarked on the most interesting area of Constitutional Law blended with labour law legislations coupled with international arena too.

She has been bestowed with populous awards like the Best National Administrator Jessup World Moot Court 2022 awarded by International Law Students Association, Leadership Excellence Award as a recognition for outstanding organising skills in Human Rights Program Conferred on the Law Day Celebration in November 2021, International Education Excellence Award for Legal Studies, January 2021; Women Empowerment Award (Delhi State Legal Services Authority)March 2020; Most Promising Teacher (MTRES), September 2018

Encircling her academic odyssey she has been assigned multifarious roles in the Law School. An energizing and dynamic Convenor of the Moot Court Society, a productive Member of the Course review Committee , influential Coordinator for International Law Course and potent member for hosting different seminars and conferences and cementing international relationships for teaching and student legal fraternity. She has regularly been associated with Bar Association of India. She also  holds the position of General Secretary of Women Division Chapter of the International Council of Jurists and fervently works to complete all the assignments with an outcome-based approach.

3.     Mr. Aditya Mishra is Founder and Managing Trustee of Law Mantra (Trust) and currently pursuing his Ph.D. from Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab. He has co-edited nineteen book; published 16 research papers; and presented 29 research papers in international and national conferences/seminars. He is a Member of the Supreme Court Bar Association; Delhi High Court Bar Association and International Council of Jurists, London.
