Adultery in India: Soon women will be held guilty?
In India, adultery is a criminal offence under section 497 of IPC which criminalizes just men not women but this scenario will change soon.
As indicated by the Indian Penal Code’s S. 497 and the Code of Criminal Procedure’s S. 198(2), only lady’s lover can be punished, that is onlt after her husband file complaint.
In a historic move, the Supreme Court declared/ announced the Sections “archaic” and “sex discriminatory”.
