About the college

Netaji Subhas Open University is the premier State Open University in India. The year 1997 was the birth centenary year of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. The Chief Minister of West Bengal made an announcement at a State function that an Open University would be set up soon and dedicated to Netaji’s hallowed memory. University is organizing Webinar on Impact of COVID-19.

About the webinar

All the sectors including the educational one are in big trouble so far as their continuity in normal activities is concerned. Lock-down definitely slows down the spread of infection of novel corona virus but it has badly affected the entire economy, particularly the
educational systems worldwide, leading to near-total closures of schools, colleges and universities.

This closure of the educational sector has shed light on various social and economic issues, including student debt, digital learning, food insecurity and homelessness. In this backdrop, the School of Professional Studies is going to organize one-day National Webinar on “COVID-19: Impact on Society, Education and Economy” to deliberate on the most important issue of the present day crisis.

Original Papers/articles are invited for presentation during the webinar. Selected papers may be published in the NSOU OPEN JOURNAL (ISSN-2581-5415) after blind review.
