LAWS RELATED TO MANUAL SCAVENGING

The practice of manual scavenging is really prohibited in India. Numerous laws have outlawed the practice for the last 60 years.

  1. The Protection of Civil Rights Act (1955) created its associate offence to compel any individual to practice manual scavenging.

  1. The 2013 Rehabilitation Act additionally commits to proving alternate livelihoods and alternative help (Such as money payments, scholarships for kids, housing and alternative legal and programmatic assistance) to assist rehabilitate former manual scavengers.
