BLOG- E-challans to be issued to all traffic rule violators in Lucknow & whole UP

BLOG/ NEWS News

Lockdown 4.0 has come with its own set of relaxations which has eased out our outdoor movements considerably. This has also triggered traffic on the streets once more but now the authorities have come up with how to handle it more efficiently. From 15th of June onwards you will be charged an e-challans if you’re found guilty of disobeying traffic lights or sliding through set speed limits, anywhere in Uttar Pradesh .

There will be no regular manual challans anymore and repeat offenders will need to pay heavier fines. An SMS are going to be sent to the driving force , after the e-challan is charged and therefore the receipts are going to be delivered to the homes of the offenders. cops are going to be wearing body cameras to record conversations with the rule violators.

Inspector general of police (traffic) Deepak Ratan stated, “An integrated e-challan system is predicted to usher in more transparency in prosecution of vehicles found violating the automobiles Act. As soon as an e-challan is issued, the owner of the vehicle will get an SMS. The e-challan is meant to catch repeat offenders, who are susceptible to pay higher fines.”

The IGP further mentioned that these e-challans will directly be integrated with virtual courts, making it easier for litigants to urge their cases solved at the earliest. “From March 2020, the government has also sanctioned each district with a particular amount of cash for postal charges of sending the e-challans generated along side the offender’s photo to his/her residence,” Ratan added.

These rules are getting to be implemented altogether the 75 districts of the state. Up till now, only 10 cities in Uttar Pradesh including Lucknow, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Bareilly, Agra, Ghaziabad, and Varanasi had this technique running.
